4th Grade

Reading & Language Arts

Welcome to the 4th grade at Prattville Elementary! My name is Mrs. Cory Cyr, and I will be your child’s homeroom, reading, and language arts teacher this year. I am so excited that we will be spending the 2020-2021 school year together! My team teacher, Ms. Lisa Rice, will teach your child math, science, and Alabama history.  Ms. Rice and I consider teaching to be a great privilege, and we look forward to each day this school year as we work together to build a strong, positive educational foundation for your child.  We love what we do and feel it is a great honor to have the opportunity to impact young lives daily.

I have two extraordinary children, Christopher and Cassidy.  My son, Christopher, lives & works in Birmingham, AL. My daughter, Cassidy, is a senior this year at Edgewood Academy. I have 2 fur babies, Layla & Chanel. Layla is a black Labrador Retriever and Chanel is a Teacup Poodle puppy. They are more like babies than pets! My family and I have loved being a part of this community and its schools for the past 13 years, and I am confident that our 14th year will be the best year yet!

Meet Ms. Cyr

I have had the privilege of teaching for a total of 14 years.  My first year, I taught 5th grade reading & language arts at Garrett Elementary in Montgomery.  After one year in Montgomery County, I proudly accepted the awesome opportunity to join the Autauga County team. My 1st year in Autauga County, I taught 6th grade math, science, and social studies at Prattville Intermediate. In 2009, I transferred to Prattville Elementary where I have happily taught 4th grade reading & language arts for the past 12 years. Wow...time really flies when you're having fun! :)

I am looking forward to another spectacular year...Go Bobcats!
